In 2020, as the world faced the unprecedented challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the UK Government brought together a consortium of leading manufacturers and suppliers to address a critical need: the production of ventilators for the NHS. Known as the Ventilator Challenge UK, this initiative united some of the country’s most innovative businesses to rapidly design, manufacture, and supply essential equipment to help save lives.

Bluemay Weston is proud to have played its part in this vital project. As specialists in cap and closure liners, gaskets, washers and plastic components, our team worked tirelessly to support the supply chain, ensuring that key parts were delivered on time to aid in the production of ventilators.

We were honoured to receive a certificate of recognition from the Cabinet Office, Penlon, and Ventilator Challenge UK, which thanked Bluemay Weston for our “invaluable contribution” and confirmed that our company was “a vital part of our battle to save lives threatened by Covid-19.”

This certificate, signed by leaders from organisations including Ford, Airbus, Siemens Healthineers, McLaren, and Penlon, is a testament to the collaboration and determination of British industry during one of the most testing times in modern history.
