Types of Cap Liners
F217 - Triseal
General leak protection liners for containers, foam liners are reusable and resistant to various substances. The F217 Foam Liner, a common choice, is chemical-resistant and used in diverse industries.
Pressure Sensitive Liners
These liners adhere to the container’s lip when the cap is applied, creating a seal without requiring induction heat. They are ideal for dry food and pharmaceutical products but do not provide guaranteed tamper evidence. Available in printed (‘Sealed for Your Protection’) or unprinted versions.
Teflon-Faced Foamed Polyethylene Liners
Combining the outstanding chemical resistance of Teflon with the sealing properties of polyethylene foam, these liners are perfect for high-purity chemicals, analytical lab samples, acids, alkalis, oils, and organic solvents.
Foil-Faced Pulp-Backed Liners
Constructed with a polyester film laminated to aluminium foil and bonded to pulp board, these liners provide strong barrier properties. They offer good resistance to hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, oils, ketones, alcohols, and grease but are not suitable for acids or alkalis.
Induction Seal Liners – Secure, Tamper-Evident Protection
Induction Seal Liners contain a foil laminate that is either a welded or a clean seal to the lip of jars or bottles, creating a hermetic, tamper-evident seal. This process occurs after filling and capping, as the container passes through an induction sealing system, generating electromagnetic energy that activates the foil, melting the polymer coating and bonding the liner to the container.
Induction Seal Liners offer multiple options depending on your product and packaging needs:
Single-Piece Induction Liners – Bond directly to the container’s lip, leaving no residue inside the cap.
Two-Piece Induction Liners – Initially bonded to the closure; once heated, the wax layer melts, separating the liner into two parts: one stays in the cap, the other seals the container.
Before selecting an induction liner, it’s essential to determine the container material (e.g., PET, HDPE, PP, Glass) to ensure optimal sealing. Customisation options such as printed logos, trademarks, and pull-tabs for easy opening are also available.
While plastic containers with screw-on caps are the easiest to seal, induction sealing can also be used for glass and metal containers with additional considerations. Glass may require pre-treatment, and metal caps can retain heat, requiring careful handling.
